Today we have to connect our daily internet. It is indispensable for everyone while connecting everything. Even so, owning one is still beyond the reach of the average person. As a result, businesses today are becoming more and more Internet-based. Shopping has started online. Castleless business is gaining priority. Moreover, the Internet has become the only option to bridge the social distance and workforce home style created by Kovid-19.
In case of maintaining social distance, one has to do office work from home. After Kovid, some offices rely on the Internet. Although people are gradually trying to return to normal life, the situation is still not normal. In this case, the use of the Internet is natural. As a result, the use of the Internet in the global environment seems to be increasing on a daily basis.
If we look at the statistics of the last five years, the number of internet users in Nepal has also increased significantly. According to the recently released annual report of the Nepal Telecommunication Authority for the Fiscal Year (FY) 2077/078 the number of internet users in Nepal till mid-July is 39.93 million.Of which, the number of mobile internet subscribers is 229.85 thousand 27 and fixed internet subscribers are 77.96 million 214. Which is the result of continued growth over the last five fiscal years. Till last year, the number of broadband internet subscribers was 28 million three thousand 345.
According to the NEA, there were 1,61,86,759 broadband subscribers in the fiscal year 2073/07. The number of mobile internet users was 157,039,741 while the number of fixed broadband users was 4,47,018. According to the statistics, the number of internet subscribers has decreased in the fiscal year 2074/07, but it has continued to increase in the next two years. The increase in the number of Internet subscribers has also had a positive impact on Internet access in Nepal. Internet access in Nepal has increased by about 42 percent in the last five years.
